Safe Side: Early Child Development Training (3-5 year olds)

Our Safe Side Program is our early child development martial arts program. This program is specifically designed for ages 4 and 5 years old. These are formative years in your child’s life. The Safe Side Martial Arts’ training program for preschool and kindergarten can make a positive impact on your child’s development.
 

At Rhyno’s PKKA, we have created a positive, safe environment for your 3-5 year old. Rhyno’s PKKA instructors believe in positive reinforcement, focusing on what the student does right and helping your child build success from there.


Key Areas of Training

Balance and Coordination

  • A major part of our curriculum are symmetrical movement exercises. These exercises focus on left- and right-side motion. These activities help these young students develop balance and coordination. Good balance and strong coordination at an early age form the foundation of self-confidence and self-control.

Focus and Concentration

  • Safet Side participates in striking, kicking, speed, and agility drills. Not only will the drills help with motor skill development, but they will also enhance the student’s ability to focus. Focus and concentration are essential pillars of child development. This will help your child become more disciplined.

Stranger Awareness

  • Kids at this age are, by nature, very impulsive and eager. That’s why it is important for your child to know what to do when approached by a stranger. Our lessons incorporate stranger awareness, and understanding on who their "safeside" adults are in their life. Through these lessons, we aim to teach your child what he or she needs to know to be safe. This is also a foundation of self-defense.

Juniors (6-11 year olds)

We have a specially designed curriculum for our Junior Program.  This program represents the next step in kids martial arts training. Students in this program set goals, learn self-defense, and anti-bullying tactics in a safe and fun environment. Our Juniors Program continues to focus on self awareness, confidence, focus, respect, personal development and physical fitness.

Regardless of what age your child begins karate they will begin to develop into skilled athletes who can overcome almost any challenge put in front of them. Not only will we contribute to your child’s weekly exercise needs, but it will also help them increase their endurance, agility, and overall fitness.  They’ll take the lessons they learn with them as they grow into strong and confident teenagers. Prepare your child for life by starting them down the path to become a world class Black Belt!

Striking and kicking

  • Lessons for this age group includes various drills, including striking and kicking. Students will learn various kicking techniques and defensive striking moves. Your child will learn how to defend his or herself from aggressive threats. However, these lessons also have additional benefits, such as developing your child’s athletic ability, improving motor skills, and boosting your child’s physical fitness

  • Our kids martial arts training system helps students react properly for effective self-defense. As your child improves his or her coordination and motor skills, your child will feel more confident.

Anti-Bullying Education

  • Elementary school may expose children to their first experience with bullying. However, our kids martial arts training program at Rhyno’s PKKA incorporates anti-bullying education. We teach our students how to react and defend themselves against bullies.

  • This environment allows for students to have a positive social experience and participate in various martial arts activities without feeling left out.

  • Students are encouraged to take advantage of multiple opportunities per year to advance in belt ranking. These belt tests give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned on the mat. 

  • Students experience growth mentally, emotionally, and socially in our program. And there are many exciting training, competitive, and leadership opportunities that enhance the student’s experience.

Jiu Jitsu

The pinnacle of ground based martial arts.  Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is world renowned for its self-defense capability and its use in mixed martial arts. At Rhyno’s PKKA, we offer Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Gi and no Gi.  We teach fundamental Jiu Jitsu, that offers you a solid foundation, a great workout, and a system of self defense.

Kickboxing

All levels welcome!  No experience is necessary to be a part of this great class.  This class has equal parts basic instruction and intense conditioning.  All applicable for self-defense.

Sparring (sport karate)

High paced class of drilling and point fighting to improve coordination and timing to get each student to their maximum potential.
